How to Structure a Short Story or Essay

This class will address issues such as where to start, the math or structure of a short piece, and the art of constructing a scene. Using exercises we will explore dialogue, exposition and interior monologue and how to blend these things together to create a solid piece of work. We will also talk about what drives a story and how to move your work forward.

Please bring: A notebook and something to write with. If you have something specific that you’re working on that’s giving you trouble and would like to bring it, please feel free to do so.
