Fridays at 1:00 pm

Local knitter Kathy Klemperer will introduce intermediate knitters to the world of knitted hats, from the simplest patterns through designing your own. Participants will choose their own project(s) from a variety of styles - basic hat, cables, color work, knit/purl variations, lace, and more! Patterns will be provided.

Space is limited and registration is required. Visit or call the library front desk for details and to register.

Before you register:

• This class is for knitters who are familiar with the knit stitch and purl stitch.

• The leader will explain and display a number of hat styles during the first class. You will choose your project(s) based on your skill level and the style you prefer.

• Whichever project you end up pursuing, scholarships are available for those needing assistance in sourcing materials - please let us know! You can email director@trumansburglibrary.org or talk with Laura by calling 607-387-5623.

Materials list:

• There is no need to buy materials before the first class.

• If you know exactly what you want to make, or if you have yarn or needles or a pattern begging to become a hat, feel free to bring what you’ve got.

• Otherwise, plan to determine during the first class what yarn/needles/pattern you’ll need to procure. There will be a few yarn samples and many patterns available for free at the class.
